Blog Prompts (#1-4)

#1 Give your thoughts on one or both of the following quotes.
“Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited, and the wealth and confusion man has created. It is a major force in explaining man to man.” ~Edward Steichen

THOUGHTS: Sometimes we do not need words to describe how we feel or what we see, we can just snap a picture of it and just observe. Observe it over and over again.

“I just think it's important to be direct and honest with people about why you're photographing them and what you're doing. After all, you are taking some of their soul.” ~Mary Ellen Mark

THOUGHTS: Express the things you want out of your model and what you expect from them in the future. I'm not too sure about what the second part means but I'm interpenetrating it as some people want so badly and put so much effort and sacrifice into their modeling.
Please respond to the following three quotes.

#2 “My portraits are more about me than they are about the people I photograph.” ~Richard Avedon.
RESPONSE: What he photographs are things he's interested in and explains a lot about him more that what the picture means to the people he photographs.

#3 “You don't take a photograph, you make it.” ~Ansel Adams

RESPONSE: You set the theme, you capture the perfect moment. You set the perfect aperture and timing

#4 “All photographs are there to remind us of what we forget. In this - as in other ways - they are the opposite of paintings. Paintings record what the painter remembers. Because each one of us forgets different things, a photo more than a painting may change its meaning according to who is looking at it.” ~John Berger
RESPONSE: Pictures are there for when we look back at a moment and like and remember the happiness, the joy, the sadness in a certain time and painting we create when we remember.
